Introducing:

The Wicked Vicar ~ an indulgent Chardonnay

The Vicar’s Mistress ~ a lively Pinot Noir

The Divine Daughter ~ a tempting Riesling

The Old Glenmark Vicarage in the heart of the Waipara Valley produces a trio of distinctive fruit driven boutique wines.  Small quantities of each vintage are handcrafted at our neighbour’s winery, one of the first in the region with a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and wines of distinction backed with an impressive list of awards and medals.  The Vicarage’s unique label is also one of a kind, a quirky talking point at dinner parties or friends pondering the intriguing family ~ The Wicked Vicar, Vicar’s Mistress and Divine Daughter.

The Vicarage’s boutique vineyard was planted in 1999 with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.  Hand harvested grapes from the vineyard are complemented with selected local fruit to create our desired premium blend.  The vineyard flanks the entranceway into The Old Glenmark Vicarage and is sited on part of a prehistoric lake-bed with distinctive clay and limestone soils.  The Teviotdale Hills provide shelter from the cold easterly winds helping create ideal conditions for producing quality fruit and wines.

In addition to wine, The Old Glenmark Vicarage offers a choice of accomodation in either the private self-contained Vicarage Barn, or an en-suited room in the Vicarage Homestay. Built in 1907, the Vicarage is a beautiful example of late 19th century architecture set amongst 100-year old trees and established grounds. Enjoy a glass of your chosen vintage while soaking in the spa, relaxing by the outdoor pool or firepit, or lying a hammock soaking in the peaceful ambience.

Very limited numbers of the Vicarage’s wines are made each year and can be ordered on-line or in selected local fine wine stores and restaurants.
