Greystone Wines

Our Story

Every now and then you come across a group of people with different backgrounds and experiences who find themselves pulled together by a phenomenal piece of land and the desire to make the best wine possible from it.

Our home is on the western side of the Waipara Valley, on slopes known locally as “the golden mile”.

With plantings from 60m to 150m above sea level, and soil profiles varying from Glasnevin clay to soils rich in limestone, special attention is paid to microclimatic opportunities.

The benefits of this attention can be seen in exciting wines with low pH levels resulting in beautiful natural structure and brilliance which are directly attributable to these unique sites.

Our wines are all grown on our property and include Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Rosé, Pinot Noir and Syrah

Our connection to this land goes way beyond what we do as a day job. This passion extends to fishing the rivers, skiing the mountains and hunting the hills of this beautiful region, and sitting down afterwards with a few friends, a good meal and a glass or two of wine.

Buying our wine is joining our journey and discovering our piece of land with us.
