Vineyard tours by prior appointment only

The Camshorn vineyard, originally a suffolk sheep farm, sits sheltered from prevailing winds by hills on both sides in the small, yet diverse winegrowing area of the Waipara Valley.

Gracing State Highway One, the Camshorn vineyard is a mile long and nearly as wide, and features precision planted north/south facing rows, created using laser lights, which cover north facing slopes gaining maximum light exposure. The vineyard sits directly in the lee of the Teviotdales, and in summer the vineyard basks in temperatures of 30+ degrees.

The vineyard's varieties of clay and gravel soils, along with its sun-trap climate, are key to creating rich, aromatic wines with a variety of flavors and textures. Clay soils comprise 65% of the vineyard – which is un-irrigated and assists with quality.

The Camshorn range of wines was launched in October 2005 and currently is founded on the hero varieties for the Waipara Valley region – Pinot Noir and Riesling, with a Pinot Noir, Classic Riesling and Dry Riesling.
