A group of young guys who have travelled, lived and worked in most corners of the world, they then brought that sense of enjoyment, adventure and creativity to the wines they make in the Waipara Valley.

Bascand Estate is a family company that creates premium New Zealand wines showcasing the best of the Marlborough and Waipara regions. The vineyards are certified as sustainable in keeping with our philosophy of looking after the environment around us and that flows into our wines.

In the 1980's Master Mariner Charles Stephen Bascand captained the steamer SS Waipara around the shores of New Zealand before purchasing land and settling with his family in the South Island. Now share in our history.
